Why ride an ATV in Sembalun, Lombok?
Sembalun sits in a cool valley on Rinjani's eastern side at about 1,150 m, with farm plots forming a patchwork and green hills all around the village. On an ATV you see a lot of it in a short time, including farm tracks that are awkward by car. You also don't need trekking fitness or weeks of training, which is why families, couples, groups of friends and company outings love it. Lombok Airport is about 3 hours away by car.
Regular Sembalun ATV: route and stops
The regular Sembalun ATV ride covers about 8 km in roughly 2 hours along village lanes, farms and hills, with two stops: Bukit Selong, where the group pauses for a rest and photos over the valley, and the Sembalun traditional village. Entrance tickets for both are included. A short riding briefing comes first, so no experience is needed. Prices are per ATV, and one ATV fits two people.
