Rinjani Trekking Packages: Open, Private or International
Planning a Mount Rinjani trek and not sure whether to join an open trip, book a private trip or choose an international-guest package? Every package is run by our local team and includes a guide, porters, camping gear, meals, the national park permit and transfers.
Rinjani trek packages: open, private or international?
- Open trips: join a group of 6–8 hikers on a set date. Good for solo travellers and couples who want a lower price and new trail friends. The final price depends on the group size and is confirmed once the group is set.
- Private trips: just your group, on dates you choose. The price per person drops with every extra person.
- International guest packages: private trips for overseas visitors with English-speaking guides, priced in Indonesian Rupiah per person.
If you are visiting from abroad, the international packages are built for you, with the same routes and inclusions plus an English-speaking guide.
Rinjani trekking routes: Sembalun, Sembalun – Torean and Timbanuh
The Sembalun route starts in Sembalun village (about 1,150 m) and crosses wide savanna via Posts 2, 3 and 4 to the Sembalun crater rim (about 2,639 m), where you camp with sunset over Segara Anak lake. The summit push starts around 1 am to reach the 3,726 m summit for sunrise.
Sembalun – Torean follows the same climb, then descends to Segara Anak (about 2,000 m) for a night by the lake near natural hot springs, before leaving through the Torean valley, nicknamed "Jurassic Park", past Penimbungan waterfall.
Timbanuh, on the quieter southern side, climbs through rainforest to Post 3 Momot Yamin. It does not go to the main summit; instead it reaches Tembesi peak, plus Orplas peak on the 3-day trip, with close views of Segara Anak and Mount Barujari.
